Shea McAleese – retirement

Today Shea McAleese announced his retirement from International Hockey after a career that has seen him achieve an incredible 320 caps as a New Zealand Black Stick. Shea started his hockey as an age group player playing in our local competitions and then our representative teams. He went on to build a successful career as professional hockey athlete through hard mahi, determination and commitment taking him to pinnacle of our sport where he has shone since his selection in our New Zealand Men’s National side competing on the world stage as #25.

All of us at Hawke’s Bay Hockey are extremely proud of Shea and what he has achieved on the international stage. We are even prouder though to have him on our HBHA team as our fantastic performance coach helping our next generation of Olympic and International athletes reach their potential.

Congratulations on fantastic career Shea.
