Hawke’s Bay Hockey is committed to providing a safe and healthy environment for its Staff and members. This commitment extends to ensuring that Hawke’s Bay Hockey’s operations do not place members of the public at risk of injury, illness or property damage. We have the use of two venues within our Association – Park Island and Unison Hockey Stadium. Both venues have Hazard/Risk Registers and forms for incidents/accidents which are available on this page.

Defibrillator is on site inside the Pavilion’s main area. Please ensure if this has to be used to complete an Incident form and contact the Office.

Mitre 10 Sports Park - Hockey facilities

The following is the Health & Safety information from the Mitre 10 Sports Park

The Grandstand Foyer will be open for hockey turf bookings (received via HB Hockey).
First Aid Room – including First Aid Kit – is located in the Grandstand Foyer.
Any accidents, incidents or near misses are to be reported to Sports Park Management (forms in red folder in First Aid Room).
Portable AED Defibrillator is on the wall beside the First Aid Room Door.
CO2 Fire Extinguishers in the grandstand are located beside the lift in the foyer, and in the Grandstand Admin and Cafe
The fenced off area between netball and the grandstand is a construction site and is subject to the contractor’s health and safety rules.
The tiles on the grandstand foyer and on the track-side of the exit doors become very slippery when wet – No running in foyer and any water spillage must be cleaned up
High Viz Vests and torches, and road cones and cone bars are located in the First Aid Room in the Grandstand
All EXITs and passageways are to be kept clear of obstructions.

Because of the number of children and spectators using the toilets on the hockey stadium side of the grandstand, only authorized vehicles are permitted to travel through the Unison
Because there are underground cables in the Park, no digging or tent pegs/stakes are to be put in the ground anywhere in the Sports Park unless the Sports Park CEO has granted permission for that work to be carried out in a particular location.
Access to the video tower is by arrangement only.
